A real self-defense – A reason for the study of Reality-Based Martial Arts & Self-Defense
Imagine, if you want …
A woman walking on a dark parking lot later that night – perhaps on his way to meet his date. The lot, apparently occupied only by vehicles parked there and the occasional cat hunting for an evening snack.
Then, as if from nowhere, she feels the hard, meaty arm slam into her throat in front. Although his mind races to determine exactly what is happening, she becomes increasingly aware that it does not control – her world has changed for always.
The woman feels her muscles contract and if it tries to move, is aware that much of her own body does not respond to commands of his brain. As adrenaline and other chemicals flood her blood cons in response to physical danger, it is topped by a multitude of feelings and sensations she has, quite literally, never experienced before.
As the response to the initial shock and panic begins to decline, it is awareness of sensation of the body of her attacker behind her and that his arm is coming over his right shoulder. It can now hear his breath hot and harsh in his ear and perhaps the fact that it says something for her, if she is not quite sure what it is.
Since it took some self-defense classes, she remembers learning to emerge from this type of attack and managed to grasp and pull arm away from his neck. What she finds though, is that she can not even begin to move at all.
"Wait a minute," she thinks in a moment of clarity ", it is not right. "
"It's not fair!"
"It has always worked in class." "This guy keeps me tight!" Nobody has this tight!
She feels beginning of the next wave of panic in his embrace. Not because it is contested, but …
… Because she realizes that his defense does not work.
"Why?" "What's going on?"
"It's supposed to work!" He said he would wo …."
As the darkness of his unconscious than it is left with the feeling of a warm blanket that is pulled on someone who will sleep a little longer.
This story, believe it or not, happens several times a single day in our country and around world. To be sure, the details are different. Perhaps the victim …
… Is a man – not a woman …
… Never actually trained with someone and just have their own assumptions …
… Was attacked differently, but …
… The results are always the same.
Or, are they?
